Snowstorm Threatens East Coast; D.C., Baltimore Under Blizzard Warnings:

• Georgia Gov. Nathan Deal issues a state of emergency for 21 counties.

• More than 4,500 flights have reportedly been canceled for Friday and Saturday ahead of the expected storm, according to the flight-tracking website flightaware.com.

• Amtrak also announced a modified schedule in the Northeast because of the impending storm.

• Gov. Tom Wolf has declared a state of emergency in Pennsylvania, joining Tennessee, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. “We cannot control the weather, but we can all be prepared for whatever the weather brings us,” he told reporters Thursday.

Bill Cosby Wins In Pennsylvania Court; Defamation Lawsuit Dismissed:

A federal judge in Pennsylvania sided with the disgraced comedian and granted Cosby’s motion to dismiss a defamation lawsuit, according to court records.

Renita Hill, one of the more than 50 women who have publicly accused Cosby of assault, filed the civil suit in October alleging that the actor and his lawyer defamed Hill in the media, court records show.

Judge Arthur J. Schwab dismissed the three claims against Cosby, ruling that the statements “do not support a claim for defamation as defined by Pennsylvania law,” according to the ruling.

North Korea Arrests American Student For ‘Hostile Act,’ State Media Says:

An American student from a university in Virginia has been arrested in North Korea, according to state media.

The student, who reportedly entered North Korea on a tourist visit, is accused of carrying out a hostile act against the DPRK, KCNA said, referring to the acronym for the Democratic People’ Republic of North Korea.

“The student entered the North Korea for the purpose of bringing down the foundation of its single-minded unity at the tacit connivance of the U.S. government,” the report said.
