GOP Debate Winners And Losers:
Donald Trump and Ted Cruz had their first fist-fight of the 2016 campaign during Thursday night’s Republican debate.
And they both won.
But they weren’t the only victors in a night that revealed the top seven GOP presidential contenders’ strengths and weaknesses just over two weeks before voters cast the first ballots in the Iowa caucuses.
René Angélil, Husband Of Céline Dion, Has Died:
René Angélil, the husband of singer Céline Dion, died Thursday.
“René Angélil, 73, passed away this morning at his home in Las Vegas after a long and courageous battle against cancer,” Dion’s publicist confirmed to CNN.
“The family requests that their privacy be respected at the moment; more details will be provided at a later time,” according to a post on Dion’s website.
Video Released Of Deadly Chicago Police Shooting:
Newly released videos of a 2013 fatal police shooting show a teen running away from two police officers when he is shot and killed in broad daylight in a South Side Chicago neighborhood.
Cedrick Chatman, 17, was shot on January 7, 2013, by Officer Kevin Fry. The city of Chicago opposed release of the videos for more than three years.
They show Chatman jumping out of a car that was reported stolen, running across the street and squeezing between two parked cars as Fry’s partner, Officer Lou Toth, gives chase. Chatman then hits an all-out sprint along the sidewalk toward an intersection. Toth sprints behind him.
