We have a follow up to yesterday’s story about a Mt. Healthy High School Graduate, whose diploma was revoked because his parents cheered too loud during his graduation ceremony.
Days after Anthony Cornist walked to the podium to accept his degree, he received a letter from the Mt. Healthy Principal saying he will not get his diploma. The reason was because his family was cheering excessively.
The only way Anthony can get his degree is if he or his family commits to 20 hours of community service.
Lori Handler, superintendent of Mt. Healthy schools, spoke with channel 9 to explain the reasoning behind the punishment. She said,
“Had I not told the people cheering for him to stop, the seceding child’s name would not have been heard.”
Lincoln Ware was able to speak to Anthony’s mom yesterday on his show. In case you missed it, you can listen below.
