Ever since the new contestants from ‘Dancing with the Stars’ were announced, there’s been drama surrounding the show’s new season scheduled to begin September 19th. If you’ve been living under a rock or you’ve promised yourself to not get addicted to the show this season, you might not know just who the contestants are or what kinds of things their individual participation may be bringing with them.

This season, the most “controversial” contestant is Chaz Bono, who was technically born Chastity Bono (daughter of 70s superstars Sonny & Cher). The fact that Chaz is on the show is by far an accomplishment already, but by some standards its a bit foreboding to see a transexual on the show making moves for millions to witness when the ‘DWTS’ cameras start rolling.

Homophobia, gender bias and its impact on entertainment will all soon be at play as some are already displaying discrimination on the harsh reality of it all. In fact, an online Christian organization has decided to take matters into their own hands with a planned boycott of the show itself due to Chaz Bono’s presence. Is it all too much? What do you think of the issues? How do you feel about Chaz Bono’s participation? Does his sexuality (both natural and preferred) have anything to do with the competition? Will you still be watching regardless?

Answer these questions in our ongoing discussions online and via the social media links below. In the meantime, check out Chaz Bono’s early declaration and find out how he’s reacting to the negative backlash received over joining ‘Dancing with the Stars.’
